Management Accountant
Purpose and Scope:
Control of the day-to-day running of the finance department, responsible for the preparation of quarterly management accounts and monthly management reporting and to be a key member of the site leadership team.
Reports To: Finance Director
Reporting roles: Accounts Administrator & Assistant Accountant
Location: Penryn.
Qualifications / Skills Required:
The ideal candidate may be partially qualified in CIMA or equivalent qualification or be AAT qualified and ideally, will have experience of preparing management accounts to tight deadlines. We are also looking for someone who:
- Has strong IT skills including experience creating reports within Excel.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Is a self-starter.
- Is a good communicator at all levels.
- Is able to manage their time well and meet reporting deadlines.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of quarterly management accounts.
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial accounts and statements.
- Assisting with the control of Audits.
- Payroll for 70+ staff.
- Control of all month-end routines including sales reports, margin analysis, UK, European and Australian VAT, and Intrastat reporting.
- Report writing in Excel and other systems.
- Evaluation and improvement of financial and management information systems.
- Valuation of stocks and development of stock control systems, including consignment.
Salary: £33,000.00-£37,000.00 per year

Assistant Accountant
Purpose and Scope:
To contribute to the day-to-day running of the accounting function, processing and running the month-end routines and assisting with the production of the quarterly management accounts.
Reports To: Management Accountant
Hours
Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00
Location: Penryn, 100% office based.
Qualifications / Skills Required:
The ideal candidate may hold or be studying for AAT or an equivalent qualification and is likely to have experience of working in an accounts team. We are also looking for someone who:
- Has strong IT skills including experience creating reports within Excel.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Is a good communicator at all levels.
- Is able to manage their time well and meet reporting deadlines.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Running the month-end routines including sales reports, European VAT and Intrastat reporting and group reconciliations.
- Monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assisting in the creation of KPI reports for management.
- Assisting with the preparation of quarterly management accounts.
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial accounts and audit requests.
- Assisting with the facilitation of accounts systems development \ maintenance.
- General office duties including data input and filing.
Salary: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

Research Chemist
We’re looking for a Research Chemist to help with the formulation of functional surface coatings for application to flexible substrates.
The Role –
Developing new standards for production and design, with improvements as needed
Coordinating projects from conception through to commercial acceptance and providing technical support/troubleshooting throughout the product life cycle
The ability to progress projects with autonomy, but also having the necessary interpersonal skills to integrate within a team for group communication & when projects dictate
Managing regular and ad hoc projects within the R&D scope, updating & advising the Technical Director on a daily / weekly basis, demonstrating the principles below

Evaluating raw materials efficiently & selecting suitable chemistries for formulation. Liaising with suppliers
Remaining focussed on project objectives and be able to meet deadlines
Producing pilot coatings & employing test procedures for establishing functionality / performance
Preparing for & conducting pre-production trials
Working with other key Technical, Production & Sales personnel to ensure the effective flow of information within the business
Demonstrating good housekeeping principles within the Team

Qualifications/Skills needed –
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent higher scientific certification
5+ years experience of working in a formulation chemist’s role
Experience within a manufacturing environment, where there is a requirement to understand technical processes
Resilient and results oriented, with a strong quality focus and the ability to work to Deadlines
Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
Strong written and oral communication skills
Well organised, with the ability to prioritise workload
