At Kernow Coatings we take our environmental responsibilities seriously.
Kernow takes its environmental responsibilities seriously and we minimise our impact by reducing waste, using aqueous solutions and coating efficiently on lower-impact materials .
By the very nature of being a business, we understand that what we do will have some effect on the environment, for example we cannot eliminate travel completely. However, in order to mitigate some of the effects on the environment, over the last nine years we have chosen to support woodland creation with the Woodland Trust, the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity.
We have funded the planting and lifetime care of more than 12,000 new native trees in beautiful counties across the South West, including Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. And now in 2016, Kernow Coatings is supporting the planting and lifetime care of 1,000 trees in the Fowey Valley in Cornwall.
With tree cover in the UK at 13 per cent compared to the European average of 44 per cent we believe it is essential to support the planting of trees in the UK.
One of the many benefits of planting trees is their ability to absorb carbon, in addition to creating homes for wildlife. What is important to us is that trees are not merely planted, but also looked after to grow to maturity and so perform a valuable role as carbon sinks.
We believe the Woodland Trust is the best custodian of this philosophy and are pleased to work together with them.
