Environmental Policy
At Kernow Coatings, we recognise that our operations have an impact on the local, regional, and global environment. In response, our Directors and management are committed to continuous improvement in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution.
We regard environmental laws, regulations and codes of practice as the minimum standard and seek to exceed them wherever possible. Our policies are implemented through a coordinated Environmental Management System and embedded throughout our organisation.
Key Commitments
• Employee Engagement – We encourage and inform employees to carry out their daily work in a safe and environmentally responsible way and actively seek feedback and consultation.
• Product Life Cycle Responsibility – We consider the environmental impact of our products at all stages, from research and development to manufacturing, customer use and final disposal.
• Resource Conservation – We aim to conserve resources through efficient use, careful planning and improved energy efficiency across our operations.
• Carbon Management – We are mitigating our carbon footprint through initiatives such as financing the planting and lifetime care of trees in the South West of England, specifically a 7 year programme supporting “Plant One”. Additionally, we are working with 3rd party local company “Carbon Sense” to monitor our footprint and support in carbon reduction initiatives.
• Sustainable Waste Management – We prioritise recycling and responsible waste disposal, including encouraging supplier take-back and only use competent, authorised agencies for disposal. We are Zero to Landifill currently.
• Environmental Targets and Goals – We set measurable targets to drive improvements in environmental performance and regularly review our work practices to minimise the risk of accidental pollutant releases.
• Continuous Review – We conduct annual reviews of our environmental performance and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Through these commitments, Kernow Coatings strives to minimise our environmental impact while promoting sustainability and responsible stewardship across all aspects of our operations.
