Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Modern slavery is a heinous crime and a morally reprehensible act that robs individuals of their liberty and dignity for another person’s gain. It affects millions of people worldwide, including in developed countries and can take many forms of exploitation.

At Kernow Coatings Ltd, we have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all our operations and supply chains. This statement outlines the actions we have taken to mitigate potential risks and promote ethical practices.

1. Organisational Structure, Business and Supply Chains

Kernow Coatings is a UK-based manufacturer and global supplier of coatings and related products. We work with a diverse network of suppliers and distributors to source raw materials and deliver our products responsibly worldwide.

2. Policies on Modern Slavery

Our Ethical Trading Policy and internal Code of Business Conduct set out our commitment to human rights, ethical sourcing and responsible business practices. We expect all suppliers and distributors to operate in line with these policies.

3. Due Diligence Processes

When selecting suppliers and distributors, we conduct robust due diligence, including evaluating:

• Compliance with applicable laws and regulations

• Respect for human rights

• Health, safety and environmental standards

In particular, we require that suppliers:

• Do not use forced, compulsory, or slave labour

• Ensure employees work voluntarily and are entitled to leave

• Provide written employment contracts with reasonable notice periods

• Do not withhold salaries or require deposits or bonds

• Do not require employees to surrender passports or work permits

4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation

We identify and assess risks of modern slavery across our supply chains, prioritising suppliers operating in higher-risk regions or industries. Where risks are identified, we work with suppliers to implement corrective measures and improve practices.

5. Training and Awareness

We provide training to employees involved in procurement, supplier management and operations to raise awareness of modern slavery risks and ensure that staff understand how to report concerns.

6. Monitoring and Effectiveness

We monitor supplier compliance through ongoing communication, audits, and reviews. Any allegations of modern slavery or human trafficking are treated with immediate action, including reporting to relevant authorities and taking appropriate steps with the supplier.

To date, we are not aware of any allegations of human trafficking or modern slavery involving our suppliers. We remain committed to continuous improvement, regularly reviewing and updating our policies and practices to reflect stakeholder expectations, our business strategy, and evolving industry best practices.

We confirm that we comply with the following:
